MINUTES OF AN ORDINARY MEETING of LEWANNICK PARISH COUNCIL HELD AT LEWANNICK
VILLAGE HALL ON THURSDAY 15TH APRIL AT 20.00 HRS. THE MEETING WAS OPEN TO THE
PUBLIC AND THE PRESS.ATTENDANCE

JN 2ND KJ proposed the Minutes of our previous meeting, which had been circulated,
and all were in favour of their adoption as a true and fair record of our previous
meeting.
REPORTS
1.1 LEWANNICK PLAYGROUND JN reported that Tailor-made had carried out the works
on the play equipment. The works will cost £320.00 PLUS VAT. A date to
renew the fence will be arranged by all present and it is hoped that this will
be done before our next meeting. CB will measure, price and bring the materials
to the site. The Chairman thanked JN for liasing with Tailor-made.
1.2 LEWANNICK VILLAGE HALL KW reported that quotes for the disabled toilets were
being obtained. It is understood that the Council will give a grant and that
it will be necessary for us to also give a grant in order for them to achieve
grant status which we will be delighted to do. An allowance in our projections
for the year 2004/5 has been made.
1.3 POLYPHANT BUS SHELTER The possible overloading of the school coach from Lewannick
is being examined. An Area Committee meeting of C C C will be held on Thursday
7 May. It is proposed that this meeting will be held at Lewannick Village Hall
at 19.00 hrs. If our Cllrs can attend this meeting it would be an ideal opportunity
to explore the bus routing.
MATTERS ARISING
2.1 Land adjacent to Sunnybank IC has received several telephone calls and correspondence
from interested parties. Copies of correspondence received will be forwarded
to C C C. It was also raised that Sunnybank has erected a substantial conservatory.
We have not received notification of a planning notice. It was proposed by RA,2nd
KJ; all in favour that we would enquire from NCDC if planning consent had been
given. The Chairman thanked IC for all her hard work in dealing with this matter.
2.2 Progress on groundwork for seat at Polyphant. It was agreed that KJ would
purchase an appropriate seat and measure the said area. JN will produce a plaque
to commemorate the project.

at our A G M.

Citizens advice bureau ñ consultation event.
Launceston Civic Society ñ Conservation Award 2004. It was proposed by
IC 2nd RA all in favour that we would forward the War Memorial at Lewannick.

Mr K Hocking ñ two letters (I) seat location for Polyphant and (ii) declaration
of interest and Masonic Quarterly Magazine Photostat will be forwarded to Sally
Lloyd-Jones, NCDC.
ANY OTHER business
7.1 31 Hawks Tor Drive ñ Mr D Wilton car repairs are apparently being
carried out at the property. It will be reported.
DP wishes to give up as the Officer for the Lewannick Play Area.
PS the general state of the roads. It will be brought to the attention of the
C C C at the meeting on the 6 May.
JP dog mess behind the Church.
Clerk ñ noticeboard for Polyphant. It was agreed that quotes could be
obtained.
Our next meeting will be held at POLYPHANT ON THURSDAY 13 MAY AT 19.30pm. The
meeting will start with an Annual Parish Meeting followed by our ordinary meeting.
